Responsibilities
Assist in the preparation of R&D tax relief claims for clients across various industries
Conduct client interviews to identify qualifying R&D activities and understand technical challenges
Research and analyse client projects to determine eligibility under HMRC guidelines
Support the preparation of technical reports that demonstrate compliance with BIS Guidelines for R&D
Calculate qualifying expenditure including staff costs, subcontractor costs, and consumables
Liaise with clients' finance teams and accountants to gather necessary financial information
Assist with responses to HMRC enquiries and provide supporting documentation
Keep up to date with changes to R&D tax legislation and HMRC guidance
Build strong working relationships with clients and internal team members
Contribute to the continuous improvement of internal processes and procedures
Requirements
Recent graduate with a 2:1 or above (any degree discipline considered, though STEM subjects, accounting, finance, business, or law preferred)
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
High attention to detail and accuracy
Professional and confident manner when engaging with clients
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong organisational and time management skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word
Genuine interest in taxation, business innovation, and helping companies grow
